How Much is a Dachshund Puppy?
The average price for one of my dachshund puppy's is around $550 for boys, $600 for girls and that is for a companion price which means that the puppy will have a Limited AKC Registration Status (not to be used for breeding.) The only AKC sanctioned
event that limited registration eliminates the puppy from is Conformation. The puppy is welcomed in all other AKC events and competitions.

Please know that the cost of a puppy does not stop with the purchase of the puppy. Three weeks after a puppy is purchased, it will need to be seen by a licensed veterinarian for its second set of immunizations. Three weeks after that visit to the vet, the puppy will need to return to the veterinarian again for its third set of immunizations. These boosters are a must! If the initial cost of a puppy cannot be afforded, then that leads me to believe that mandatory medical costs cannot be afforded for the puppy as well.
The puppy/dog will also need parasite prevention such as Advantage II for fleas and ticks and this is not inexpensive either. The dogs must have it! Some owners think that they can forego this prevention. Would they want to go through a day scratching at lice on their head? No. So why would anyone think that their best friend should suffer with these parasites?
If the problem is allowed to exist, then the problem spreads throughout the house carpets, rugs and floors and human legs and beds.
The concerns listed above are just the preventative medical. What's going to happen with the new puppy if it gets hurt? Just to walk through the door of the animal emergency clinic costs $85 ($40 for the emergency fee and $45 for the examination fee).
What do you accept for payment?
I accept cash, personal checks, Paypal and money orders for deposits ONLY. I do not accept personal checks for further payment. Until a deposit is received the puppy will be marked as pending. If I do not receive the deposit within five business days, the puppy will become available again. The puppy must be paid in full by 8 weeks of age. If the puppy is not paid in full by 8 weeks of age, the deposit is forfeited and the puppy will be listed for sale again unless you have made other plans with me at the time the deposit is put down.
Why are your prices higher than the puppies I see in the paper?
I always use the saying, "You get what you pay for". Our adults are hand picked to produce quality, well bred, even tempered puppies. We do not breed aggressive, submissive, or dogs with poor structure. We do not breed dogs that produce genetic defects. We only breed sound, healthy dogs. My adults are fed 4Health Adult Chicken & Rice Formula, and the puppies are started on 4Health Puppy Formula. They have monthly flea&tick prevention(Advantage II) and they are all kept UTD on their vaccinations. We also use preventative care for things like giardia, coccidea, and we worm every month to ensure that our adults are all healthy. Healthy adults produce healthy puppies. Our puppies are born in our home(my bedroom to be exact), I am there for every birth and I "imprint" the puppies as soon as they are born. They are handled by me daily and they are socialized with children, and other dogs. They are raised around normal household noise and many other noises. They are happy, healthy, well rounded puppies by the time they go home. We update new families with weekly pictures of their new puppy so they can watch them grow. They are given their first bath at 6 weeks and are all bathed and groomed before going to their new home. They come with a puppy pack and a puppy starter kit to get them started in their new home. This is why our puppies cost more than puppies advertised in the paper. We want you to spend your time bonding with and enjoying your new puppy. Not spent taking the puppy to the vet. We would rather you spent money spoiling your new puppy then paying for vet care for a sick puppy.
